About the Club

Our mother club, the Rotary Club of Inverness, was chartered in 1921 and for many years served the local community unassisted.

Inverness was granted city status in 2000 and is, reputedly, the fastest growing city in Europe. Long before that the Rotary Club of Inverness recognised the need for a second Rotary Club in Inverness and sponsored the formation of a further club which was chartered as the Rotary Club of Loch Ness in 1990.

Its initial membership of 35 has now expanded to over 50 and includes men and women from a wide range of businesses, trades and professions.

Expansion in Inverness continued apace and in 1999 the Rotary Club of Loch Ness formed a third Rotary Club in Inverness, the Rotary Club of Inverness, Culloden.

Not content with simply forming one more club the Rotary Club of Loch Ness formed a fourth Inverness Rotary club, The Rotary Club of Inverness Riverside, in March 2006
